WooCommerce SEOWooCommerce gives you full control over your shop, which is great for SEO. It also gives you plenty of ways to slow it down and confuse Google. Too many plugins, cheap hosting and filter pages Google can’t make sense of. I sort the lot.
WooCommerce turns a WordPress site into a shop. Because it’s WordPress underneath, you can change almost anything, from page addresses to how products are structured. That freedom is a real advantage for SEO when it’s used well.
It also means nothing stops you making a mess. The WooCommerce shops I look at usually have the same few problems. A pile of plugins loading on every page, hosting that can’t keep up, category pages with nothing written on them and filter options that create hundreds of near-identical pages for Google to wade through. None of it is hard to fix, but it does need someone who knows where to look.
I work through the shop in order. Speed and hosting first, because nothing else matters if the pages crawl. Then plugins, category and product pages, filter pages and product schema through your SEO plugin. If you’re still choosing a platform, my comparison of WordPress, Wix, Squarespace and Shopify might help.
WooCommerce SEO starts at £125 a week, 30 day rolling, as part of my ecommerce SEO work. I can also build or rebuild WooCommerce shops and host them on my UK hosting.
The usual problems on WooCommerce shops, and what I do about them.
Caching, image sizes and hosting checked, because a slow shop loses sales before anything else matters.
Plugins you don’t need removed, and the rest checked for what they load on every page.
Words and structure added to product categories so they match what people search for.
Your own descriptions, sensible titles and image alt text on the products that matter most.
Yoast or Rank Math configured so titles, sitemaps and product schema come out right.
Out of stock and discontinued products handled so you don’t lose rankings or leave dead links.
Very much a 5 star rating on standard.
Filters are handy for shoppers. Size, colour, price, brand. But every combination can create its own page address, and on a shop with a few hundred products that soon turns into thousands of near-identical pages.
Google ends up spending its time on those instead of your real categories and products. I sort out which filter pages Google should see and which it should ignore, so the pages that matter get the attention. The same goes for tags, which often create thin duplicate pages too.
From a slow, cluttered shop to one Google can read.
Speed, hosting, plugins, categories and filter pages all looked at first.
Biggest problems fixed first, then categories written and products improved.
New pages for the searches worth winning, tracked in your live reporting portal.
Send me your WooCommerce shop address and I’ll check speed on a phone, how your categories show up in Google and whether filters are creating pages Google doesn’t need.
If you want me to crack on, it’s from £125 a week, which is about £18 a day. Less than a couple of coffees.

From £125 a week, which is about £18 a day, 30 day rolling. Larger shops can need more time and I’ll say so before we start.
Yes. Because it’s WordPress underneath you can control almost everything. It just needs setting up well and keeping tidy.
Usually a mix of too many plugins, large images and hosting that can’t keep up. I check all three and fix the biggest problem first.
Yoast or Rank Math both work well. I’ll set up whichever you have, or recommend one if you have neither.
They can. Every filter combination can create a new page address, which wastes Google’s time. I sort out which ones Google should see.
If they’re coming back, keep the page live and say so. If they’re gone for good, redirect the page to the closest product or category.
Yes, WooCommerce lets you. Any change needs redirects from the old addresses so you don’t lose rankings.
It adds some, and your SEO plugin can add more. I check what your shop outputs and fill any gaps.
Yes. I build and rebuild WooCommerce shops with SEO in from the start, and can host them on fast UK servers.
