Who we are

hiPete is run by Peter Duffy from 105 Boundary St, Liverpool L5 9YJ. We provide SEO, Google Ads, website development, hosting and website management. For this website and the services we provide, hiPete is the data controller for your personal data. We process it in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

• Contact details such as your name, business name, email address and phone number, when you fill in a form, WhatsApp us, email or ring.
• Business details such as your website address and the services you’re interested in.
• Account access you choose to share with us, such as access to your website, Google Analytics, Search Console, Business Profile or Google Ads, so we can do the work.
• Billing details needed to invoice you. We don’t store full card details.
• Website usage data such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, collected through cookies where you allow them.

Why we use it

We use your data to reply to enquiries, carry out the work you’ve asked for, send reports and invoices, and improve this website. Our lawful bases are taking steps towards or carrying out a contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and improving the business, meeting legal obligations such as keeping tax records, and your consent where we ask for it, for example for non-essential cookies.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your data. We share it only with the people and services that help us run the business, such as our small in-house team, our hosting provider, email and messaging services, accounting software and payment providers. Each of them is only allowed to use it for the job we’ve given them.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as we need it. Enquiries that don’t go anywhere are deleted after a reasonable time. Client and billing records are kept for six years after we stop working together, because the law requires it for tax purposes. Access to your accounts is removed when our work ends.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for it to be moved to someone else, and withdraw consent at any time. Just get in touch using the details below.

Keeping it safe

We take sensible steps to keep your data secure, including strong passwords, two-step login where it’s available and limiting access to the people who need it. We generally keep data in the UK. If a provider stores data outside the UK, we make sure suitable protections are in place.
